Personal Development: 5 Exercises to Change your Life!

To change life. This is a dream that 66% of people would like to realize. Easier said than done! To achieve this, here are some exercices that can help us re-enchant our lives.

Abdominal breathing!

Starting over, or at least getting off on the right foot, is possible! But you still have to have the will. Among the exercises, we find abdominal breathing.

This method consists of becoming aware of your breathing: if it is a natural and automatic phenomenon, it must also be able to be controlled.

As the name suggests, abdominal breathing comes from the belly: it inflates and deflates without the upper body moving. The goal? Relax, drive away anxiety and thus lower your stress level.

To multiply the effects of this exercise, start by placing one hand on the stomach and another on the chest, before breathing while only inflating the stomach. A movement that can be repeated three or four times in a row, several times a day!

Self-hypnosis!

Self-hypnosis consists of reaching a modified state of consciousness, between sleep and wakefulness, in order to come into contact with one’s subconscious.

The session begins with the induction phase, during which you go from a so-called normal state to a hypnotic state. Then try to choose a phrase that summarizes your purpose: this is called autosuggestion.

We continue by making ourselves comfortable in a quiet place, closing our eyes and breathing slowly, before repeating out loud 5 times the autosuggestion chosen at the start of the session. The goal? Get around your blockages and your fears to develop your still untapped potential.

The Scottish Shower!

The changes you make can upset your immune system. So what could be better than a little freshness to reenergize yourself?

This practice, which is nothing new, involves alternating hot and cold water in order to activate blood circulation, tone muscles and stimulate vital organs.

To reinforce the benefits of this rather special shower, start the shower with hot water, with the showerhead pointing towards the feet, then gradually lowering the temperature.

A yoga posture!

Yoga has many benefits: it reduces stress, regulates breathing and helps to gain flexibility. For all these reasons, let’s learn to perform a posture well known to yogis: the mountain

Starting the session with pranayama, a practice that makes it easier to enter meditation. Once this breathing exercise is completed, it’s time for the mountain pose.

To do this, just stand with your feet apart, with your chest as straight as possible, then open your chest and extend your arms up to your fingertips, before lifting them up to the sky. A good way to relieve physical and mental tension!

Disconnection!

We have all heard of “digital detox”, a practice that consists of disconnecting from all your digital devices in order to reconnect with yourself. You will see that you will be both more alert and calmer.

No need to put your phone and computer aside for days on end. If you can’t unplug for too long, for professional reasons for example, try rather to disconnect in 10-minute or 15-minute increments every day.
