Rome was not built in a day. We all know that in order to achieve our goals, we often have to fail. A fear for some, who see it as a shame. Yet failure is an integral part of our construction.
Whether in the family, school, music or sports, life is made of failures. Some are so afraid of going through it that they have developed an extreme phobia of failure: kakorrhaphiophobia. But why are we so afraid of failing?
According to studies, failure refers to a narcissistic wound. It hurts, because it can cause loss of self-confidence, especially since it is not socially valued […] failure is part of the construction of psychic life, it is a necessary passage.
The important thing is not the failure itself, rather it is always to learn from it.
Fail, a necessary step that allows for success!
Failure sometimes helps define what you really want. Whether professionally or on a personal level.
Where there are failures, there is success elsewhere. In failure, there is never a defeat.
Failure brings you closer to success. People fear failure thinking it is destructive. It is actually initiatory. We get up again, stronger and knowing more who we are so obviously our philosophy should be to never give up and fight for the joy of winning.
Knowing how to get up after a failure!
It is true that after failure we doubt ourselves a lot and question ourselves a lot, but it is these questioning that will lead us to success. Succeed right away? We all want it. Is it possible ? Surely. However, we have to accept that this does not happen all the time and that we sometimes go through hardships.
It’s normal to need time and sometimes tears too, time to mourn our disappointment, we are only humans! But we cannot miss our lives and spoil the flavor with recurring fears or fears of failure. It has always been said that losing a battle does not mean losing the war, but rather taking a more strategic step back to face the walls that stand on our roads.
The problem: how others see our failures!
Failure is socially frowned upon, because it refers to loss and mourning. These kinds of episodes can be difficult to live with, as one can quickly feel vulnerable and humiliated in front of others.
But just imagine if Thomas Edison, inventor of the phonograph, light bulb, and kinetograph – the first camera in history – had given up on his first failure? He himself said, “I have not failed. I just found 10,000 solutions that don’t work.”
