Michelle grew up on the Chicago south side, where she was born in 1964. Her parents highlighted the significance of schooling and Michelle excelled there. Moving on to attend the University of Princeton, Michelle attended Harvard Law School.
She spent her entire career engaging the younger generation. While at the same time promoting the community where she did grow up. With her history of taking concrete steps to bring about social change, and in specific her goal of women’s empowerment, she has become a role model for many.
The American Dream
Michelle Obama is a powerful symbol of which it is right for America. She tells us that an African American child from the poorest areas of the city has the ability to be anything. And not to be merely First Lady, a position forced upon her. She got to Harvard and Princeton through persistence and hard work and built out an incredibly productive life in her own right.
For starters, in an unguarded moment, during the 2008 presidential primaries, she said:
“I am very proud of my country for the first time in my adult life, and it seems like hope is actually making a comeback.”
FLOTUS and Feminism: (First Lady of the United States)
The first lady ‘s role is a kind of claustrophobic sort of position without any formal office, portfolio, title, or of course, salary. But Michelle Obama reshaped the First Lady’s role. And as a consequence, it’s as if finally feminism was acknowledged as part of what the FLOTUS might be.
Michelle Obama used her voice to spread a constructive message on a variety of important topics including her FLOTUS initiative about child safety and wellness.
Revolutionary Woman:
In 2011 Michelle and Second Lady Jill Biden launched a program called Joining Forces. This supported Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families. This created opportunities for schooling, health, and employment to help them find success in life.
During 2014, Michelle focused primarily on schooling, encouraging children to achieve academic excellence. She encouraged young people to continue their education after high school. To allow themselves the opportunity to determine how to make the most of their abilities and follow their desired path.
Girls’ Education:
Both Michelle and Barack decided to launch Let Girls Learn in 2015, inviting girls to stay in school, and asking the government to fund more in their schooling. She always says that no nation will ever fully prosper if it is stifling its women’s ability and depriving itself of half its people’s contributions.
Michelle Obama addressed young women to encourage them to stick up for themselves as men discourage them from getting their education. She said: “You don’t want to be with a boy who is too stupid to appreciate a smart young lady.”
Her husband publicly described Michelle in his presidential farewell speech as having done it with “grace, determination, charm and good humor.” Everything she does is done with zeal, from knocking down stereotypes to eliminating the obstacles to education for girls.
There is nothing she can’t do as her optimistic outlook helps her to continue inspiring people.
