If you think there’s some exclusive path you should follow to be number one, think again. What is required to be number one is a simple question to ask. Yet it takes a lot of suffering and effort to execute it and many don’t have the stamina to carry on doing.
When Being Merely Ok Is Enough…
Have you barely ever studied for an exam, but have scored the best in your class – because the others did less? Or did you ever presented a barely acceptable project, but were graciously rewarded by the supervisor – because the others weren’t on schedule?
We’ve all encountered circumstances where merely being “good enough is good enough.” And, sadly, many have settled for that norm. Yet, where many are screaming for attention, there’s one thing that overwhelms and dominates – and that’s EXCELLENCE.
There are some ways to make sure that you do your best in what matters to you:
- Find Your Ambition
Get the ambition to decide where you want to be what you’d like to do. What does this entail to be number one for you? Think it over. What it confirms can mean to excel, it can mean being the best, and it can mean to be at the top. You’ve got to have a simple vision. If you’re confident, focus on it and trust in it.
- Act Upon Your Ambition
Many people fail to be number one because they fail to DO. The work part is what will get you to be number one, many forget that. To be number one in any field takes a lot of hard work and it is a constant struggle. Having a belief without action is just plain fantasy. Nothing will ever come true.
What it also takes is a winning mentality. To be number one in the business world is to act on your ambitions with confidence, zeal, and faith.
- Accept Setbacks As Part of Work Life
Know that there are failures on the way to being number one. Nobody’s going to tell you what it takes without informing you of the number of setbacks you’ll face.
Don’t beat yourself over it as it happens. Errors occur, sometimes you can’t help it. You could get a poor review, and it’s just simply a part of the working environment.
Although once you have made the error, you need to learn about it and take full responsibility for it. Don’t give up and get moving. Right when you think of giving in, that’s when you remind yourself you’re going to have to keep going.
